The Minutes of the Rauceby Parish Open Meeting
Wednesday, 15th May 2019 at 7pm in Rauceby Village Hall
Present: Cllr M Ireland (Chairman), seven Parish Councillors, 21 members of the public, Cllr S Waring (NKDC) and the Parish Clerk, Mrs P Ireland
Cllr M Ireland welcomed everyone.
1. Apologies: Cllr G Hoare, Mr and Mrs Tupholme and Mr and Mrs S Enstone
ouncil Open Meeting on Wednesday 2nd May 2018, were signed as a true and accurate record.
3. Reports from Visiting Representatives:
Cllr S Waring gave a brief report highlighting possible difficulties ahead at NKDC with 20 conservative councillors and 22 independents (6 of whom are unaligned).
4. Chairman’s Report.
Report attached.
5. Financial Report:
This was circulated to all present. The accounts have been independently examined and will be adopted at the Annual Parish Council meeting.
6. Matters raised by the Parish Council:
- Grass cutting in the village currently undertaken by LCC – Grass is currently cut by either NKDC, Lincs County Council or volunteers. LCC now only cut the grass twice per year and some of the volunteers are no longer able to mow the areas that they did. The PC were looking at the possibility of employing a contractor to mow certain areas on a more regular basis to keep the village looking tidy. No objections were raised to this proposal, which would take place in 2020.
- Update on Highway Matters – Most of these had been covered by the Chairman in his report. Concern was expressed about speeding in South Rauceby and also the lack of a crossroads sign at the junctions of Pinfold Lane and Cliffe View with Rauceby Drove. The Chairman assured the meeting that the Parish Council were doing all they could to address speeding matters but the Parish Council were experiencing continued communication problems with Lincolnshire Highways.
6. Any matter of local interest which electors of the Parish wish to bring to the attention of the Parish Council:
- Footpath from Greylees to Rauceby Drove – A request was made that this be extended so that there was a continuous path from Rauceby to Sleaford.
- De-fibrillator – A request was made that all parishioners were made aware of the existence of the one outside Rauceby School.
- Heavy traffic through the village – There had recently been an increase in volume. It was agreed that this might have been due to the development on Thorpe Drove and would be temporary.
There being no other business the business part of the meeting was closed at 7.37pm.
A short presentation was then given by Diane Hansen, Head of Engagment & Inclusion for the South West Lincolnshire Clinical Commissionning Group concerning a ten year plan for NHS services. Discussion followed.
